If the vacuum won’t pick up, check to make sure the bag/canister isn’t full. Most of you have bag-less vacuums, so it's super easy to open it and dump the dirt out into the trash. If your vacuum needs a vacuum bag, the managers will replace the bags twice a year (but, please let us know if you do need a vacuum bag before we routinely bring one over).
- Clean the filter. With most of your bag-less vacuums, it's super easy. Just pull the filter out and rinse it through with water until the water is clear. Make sure it dries completely before putting it back in the vacuum.
- Unplug the vacuum, turn over and take the plate off (exposing the brush and belt.)
- Check to make sure the belt isn’t broken. If it is, it is your responsibility to replace it. If it has just slipped off, move it back onto the bearing.
- Check the intake opening. Is it clogged with hair, lint, paper, etc? Cut off any hair/yuckiness that is around the roller with scissors or a knife.
- Check the hose for blockage.
- If none of the above steps are working, fill out a maintenance request sheet.
