Moving Out

Sometimes we collect a lot more than we realize.   Especially when we're living at school for eight months or more; we often find it hard to fit all our belongings into a car and may even find that we leave things behind.

Here are a few points to help make sure you have everything and that the condo is beautiful when you leave.

Moving Out
  1. Do your cleaning and move out all your belongings no later than 12:30 pm on the day your contract ends.  Make sure you brush up on the Move In Packet because there are some tips for avoiding fees.
    • You may move out earlier, if you'd prefer.  If you move out less than 30 days from your check out date, your cleaning assessment will be performed with your roommates after everyone moves out.
    • If you need to move out 30 days or more before your contract ends, contact the managers.
  2. Leave your keys, parking pass, and self addressed & stamped envelope in your bedroom, on the bed or desk.  If you choose to drop them off to the managers in person, everything that does not have your name on it (i.e. keys, parking pass, etc.) MUST be in an envelope with your name on it and must be received by the managers by 12:30 pm on the last day of your contract.
  3. Managers will access the condo once all the girls have moved out.  Access may occur even at 12:35pm after checkout time, so make sure you are done with your cleaning duties and all your belongings are moved out.  You will be notified of any failed duties via e-mail.
  4. Review your financial sheet via Google Docs.  An e-mail will be sent when your financial sheet is finalized.  Your deposit is sent to you within a month after your contract ends.
How to Avoid Unnecessary Fees
  • Turn in a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the managers.  This envelope should be addressed to an accurate forwarding address, so we can return your deposit money.  If you do not leave a self addressed envelope, you will be charged $5.00.
  • Make sure your cleaning is done STUPENDOUSLY!  You are responsible for the cleaning on your duties sheet.  Any cleaning that fails, will be cleaned for you at $20 an hour.  (Here's the link to the Cleaning Check duties sheets)
  • Check to see if there are any utility bills left in your name.  If you had utilities in your name, please make sure that you take your name off the bill, but you contractually cannot remove your name before 12:00am on the day your contract ends (usually that means the next business day).
